Mission Statement

The Wide Net is a national journal of literature, composition studies and rhetoric that publishes research, reviews and creative work written by graduate students seeking their Master’s degrees. The Wide Net is dedicated to academic inquiry and reaffirming the utility and value of the humanities.

Additionally, the goal of The Wide Net is to foreground the often underrepresented research and writing of Master’s students in academic conversations and to create a viable network of young academics.

The Wide Net is a publication of Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri with the auspices of the Department of English and Linguistics.
